We Rock the Spectrum Gym

We Rock the Spectrum Gym invited us to check out their facility in Laguna Hills. Our visit can pretty much be summed up by my 5 year-old’s response to our little adventure: “Oh my gosh! Best day ever!”

All 4 of my boys had a ton of fun. The gym is small enough to keep a close eye on everyone but big enough for the kids to feel free to roam, explore, and get their bodies moving.

I highly suggest you visit this gym if you are looking for something fun to do or genuinely need to give your kiddo a sensory break. The gym has an array of swings, climbing apparatuses, a large trampoline, a play area with kitchen and train table, small low-lit break time rooms, and so much more.

They also have a great art area with smocks, paint, stickers, and pretty much any other craft material you can think of. The boys were free to use any of the art supplies. They had a great time painting, and best of all, I didn’t have to worry about a mess.

Back to the sensory action, the zip line and monkey bars were definitely the highlights for all my boys; even the baby slid down the zip line ramp. The zip line was also a great opportunity for us to practice waiting and taking turns with Charlie. The owner mentioned that the gym provides a great opportunity for children on the spectrum to socialize with other kids as well as learn to wait their turn.

It is very affordable to visit the gym, but I was happy to hear that they have scholarships available if finances are an issue. You can find more details on pricing and scholarships by visiting their website.

The scholarships are not the end of the great outreaches they offer either. They hold TACA, Talk About Curing Autism, meetings called Coffee and Talk. Your child can play for a discounted rate while you attend the meeting. Check their website for upcoming dates. Meetings are held in the morning and evening, so everyone can attend.

They also offer day camps during school breaks as well as drop off programs, Spanish classes, birthday parties, and Autism Movement Therapy classes.

On January 29th, they are hosting a Mom’s Sip and Shop Night from 6-9 p.m. Leave the kiddos at home and come enjoy some drinks, snacks, and shopping! See the flyer below, and note that it’s a shoes off but socks required event.

Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with We Rock the Spectrum Gym in Laguna Hills. We will be back. Hope to see you there!
